Blake Mycoskie is the Founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS Shoes, Inc. TOMS' simple promise to give a pair of new shoes to children in need around the world with every pair sold is revolutionizing the way consumers shop. The One for One business model has encouraged conscientious consumers to purchase and give more than 140,000 pairs of new shoes to children in need in just 3 years. By the end of 2009, TOMS will give an additional 500,000 pairs of new shoes to children in need all around the world, including at home in the U.S. The One for One business model is redefining social entrepreneurship for a new generation. Can the purchasing power of individuals be used to foster the greater good? Can an entrepreneur succeed financially and make the world a better place? The amazing success of TOMS Shoes proves that the answer to both of these questions is a resounding "Yes!" Embodying the entrepreneurial spirit of a new generation, Mycoskie has created five businesses since college. In the Bill Gates Time magazine article, "How to Fix Capitalism," TOMS is cited and Mycoskie caught the attention of AT&T, who has featured him in a major national ad campaign for the last several months. Mycoskie is an avid reader and traveler. He is 32-years-old and lives on a sailboat in Los Angeles.
This is a much needed book for my business. I'm not insulting myself or anything but it is a BREAKDOOOOOOOOOOOWN of a business plan. --and I say breakdown very slowly. Lol. Im working on my business plan and I find my english class helpful. I wish I can broaden my vocabulary though. Lol. Does anybody know if they have "Expand Your Vocabulary for Dummies?" ... Hmmmm? I may need to go back to Barnes and Noble for that or a business dictionary.

On my way to Pembroke Lakes Mall to do some procrastinated Christmas shopping I got hit from behind. In the passenger was my little sister, Cari. Me and Cari was listening to music on full blast. I prepared to make a right at the stop light right before the mall. The driver in front of me came to a sudden stop. So did I. I was inches away from hitting him. My heart dropped. I looked in my rear view and saw a mercedes coming at me full force. I suppose he thought I kept going. I looked at Cari without a seatbelt, then... BOOM! I hit my head on the ceilings. I opened the car door and rolled out on the floor. Cari was fine. She jumped out the car and ran over to me to make sure I was ok. The driver that hit me became concerned. He jumped out his car to see if everyone he had effected was ok. It was a four car wreck. He hit me, I hit a truck, the truck hit someone else. I recieved the most damage. My car sits low, so the hood went under the truck in front of me. Pushing my engine in so badly, you can hear the smoke and liquid leaking. I had already one gift in the trunk. Some toys I bought for my niece. I was just praying my trunk wasn't jammed because I wanted to give baby Doniyah her toys for Christmas. I latered discovered it wasn't jammed. Thank God I made it out alive as damaged as my car was. I got my car when I graduated High School early. A source of thank you from my parents. I looked at my car as it loaded up on the towing truck devestated. Thinking my car may be totaled. Still undescided til this day if it's fixable or totaled.
Merry Christmas to me! With back pain I opened a little box. Got a 1ct diamond ring from my boyfriend and so much more from others. I gave and recieved. I may have lost my car but I still had my health and loved ones. The grinch tried to take away my Christmas but I ended up having the best Christmas ever.
This is how I spent my Winter Break.
