Spring Break! [[[All work No play =]]]]

Elena Rae Schultz Invited me to Athens, Georgia as a Student Representative for Broward College to attend the Gulf South Summit. Here we went to various workshop on a three day schedule to figure out how we can implement student service learning in our system. The mission of the Gulf-South Summit on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement through Higher Education is to promote networking among practitioners, research, ethical practices, reciprocal campus-community partnerships, sustainable programs, and a culture of engagement and public awareness through service-learning and other forms of civic engagement. Who wouldn't want to get out into the community and give back all while still getting a college credit. this is a big epidemic for the the future of learning...

I got to hear LIVE IN PERSON!!! ... Blake Mycoskie! Founder of TOMS Shoes and my favorite of the trip.
Blake Mycoskie is the Founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS Shoes, Inc. TOMS' simple promise to give a pair of new shoes to children in need around the world with every pair sold is revolutionizing the way consumers shop. The One for One business model has encouraged conscientious consumers to purchase and give more than 140,000 pairs of new shoes to children in need in just 3 years. By the end of 2009, TOMS will give an additional 500,000 pairs of new shoes to children in need all around the world, including at home in the U.S. The One for One business model is redefining social entrepreneurship for a new generation. Can the purchasing power of individuals be used to foster the greater good? Can an entrepreneur succeed financially and make the world a better place? The amazing success of TOMS Shoes proves that the answer to both of these questions is a resounding "Yes!" Embodying the entrepreneurial spirit of a new generation, Mycoskie has created five businesses since college. In the Bill Gates Time magazine article, "How to Fix Capitalism," TOMS is cited and Mycoskie caught the attention of AT&T, who has featured him in a major national ad campaign for the last several months. Mycoskie is an avid reader and traveler. He is 32-years-old and lives on a sailboat in Los Angeles.

How awesome was that. There were other speakers too and MASS work-shops.
But ultimately I am happy to be apart of the Student Service Learning Advisory Board.
It was an cold, but a very compelling experience.

dURRRhh!!!!

This is a much needed book for my business. I'm not insulting myself or anything but it is a BREAKDOOOOOOOOOOOWN of a business plan. --and I say breakdown very slowly. Lol. Im working on my business plan and I find my english class helpful. I wish I can broaden my vocabulary though. Lol. Does anybody know if they have "Expand Your Vocabulary for Dummies?" ... Hmmmm? I may need to go back to Barnes and Noble for that or a business dictionary.

Miami Times

I made Miami Times March 17-23,2010!
How exciting! It was for Hair Drama, the play i'm in. Im right next to Oprah in the Lifestyle and Entertainment section! Hopefully thats good luck to get "Oprah" type money. Lol. You can see a little below, Tiger Woods... UGH! I hate him. But anywho, I'm very excited for the play. Its going to be big. Tyler Perry started out the same way as my director, Felitia Brown, and i'm honored to be apart of the movement. Sky is not the limit.

Business Cards Are In!

(above, a screen cap)
Im so excited to have recieved half of 500 business cards. I did not realize how much cards I was getting. I recieved a box of 250 business cards a few days ago and it was soooo much. I definantly got my money worth. Might I add, it's simply classy. I designed it myself and I absolutley love it. I already started to give it out to family. The website isn't up yet but it coming. BC are you ready?
KEEP IT ON A HUSH...

HushCosmetics.com

Did I mention?
I'm working on my own brand of cosmetics. As you can tell, its called "HUSH COSMETICS". Instead of having a baby I birthed a company. Its pretty much like a child. Sounds like a wild metaphor but it is very much like a baby. You have to take care of a business, pay it lots of attention, and make great investments. I just got HUSH incorporated in the state of Florida and it was the most exciting thing ever. I have a Tax I.d. number and of course now I have to pay taxes but it's my baby; I dont mind at all. Anyhow, I have a DOPE web designer >>> AimeeVOnline.com, she's designing my coming soon page for HushCosmetics.com.. I can't wait to get it going. Now your probly thinking... How in the heck am I going to get a legit business going? Well, since I was sixteen i've wanted my own line of Lip gloss. So i've been doing alot of research. I need a complete business plan for investors. With investors, hopefully, I'm granted a large sum of money based on my business plan. They can even buy stock... [my stock is $0.01 a share =)] ... Lol. As the business grows, the stock grows. But there is obviously alot more then what I mentioned. But the business plan is the heart of the business. Every year or so it needs a check up or shall I say... Updating. So i'm working hard. Hush is coming soon. Keep updated!
